Privacy Policy
Last updated: 11 August 2026
We respect your privacy and are committed to protecting your personal data. This Privacy Policy (“Policy”) explains how Spontora (“we”, “us”, “our”) collects, uses, shares, and protects your information when you use the Spontora mobile application (the “App”) and related services.
By accessing or using the App, you agree that you have read and understood this Policy, and that you are over 16 years of age (or have had a parent or guardian read and agree to this Policy on your behalf). If you do not agree, please do not use the App.
1. Information we collect
A. Account and contact information
Your name, email address, and — if you sign in with Google or Apple — the account username and user ID provided by that service. Used to create and manage your account and to communicate with you about the App.
B. Location information
Your device’s precise location (GPS), when you grant permission, and/or a location you enter manually. Used to suggest relevant places, events, and things to do near you. You can use the App with a manually entered location without granting GPS access, and can change location permissions at any time in your device settings.
C. Usage and technical data
Basic information such as device type, operating system, app version, in-app search queries, and general interaction data. Used to operate the App, detect and fix errors, and improve the service.
2. How we use your information
We use the information we collect to: create and manage your account; provide personalized, location-based suggestions; operate, maintain, and improve the App; respond to your requests; and comply with legal obligations. We adopt the principles of data minimization and purpose limitation — we collect only what we need for these purposes.
3. How we share your information
We do not sell, trade, or rent your personal information. To provide our core features, we share limited information (such as your location or search queries) with the following categories of third parties, who process it under their own privacy policies:
- Place and event data providers — Google Maps Platform / Places API, Ticketmaster, and Google events search, to find and display places and events near you.
- Authentication providers — Google and Apple Sign-In, if you choose those options.
- Infrastructure and hosting — Supabase, our backend and authentication provider, which stores your account data on our behalf.
- Law enforcement and public authorities — where we believe in good faith that disclosure is required by law or necessary to protect rights, property, or safety.
We do not display advertising and do not track you across other apps or websites.
4. Legal bases for processing (EEA/UK users)
If you are in the European Economic Area or the UK, we process your personal data on these legal bases: performance of a contract (to provide the App), your consent (for precise location access), our legitimate interests (to operate and improve the App), and compliance with legal obligations. You may withdraw consent at any time.
5. International data transfers
We operate globally, and some of our service providers are located outside your country, including in the United States. Where we transfer personal data internationally, we rely on appropriate safeguards such as Standard Contractual Clauses or applicable adequacy decisions.
6. Your privacy rights
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, restrict, or export your personal data, and to object to certain processing. EEA/UK users have these rights under the GDPR. You can delete your account and associated data directly in the App. To exercise other rights, or to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority, contact us using the details below.
7. Supplemental notice for U.S. residents
Residents of certain U.S. states (including California under the CCPA/CPRA and Virginia under the VCDPA) have rights to know what personal information is collected, to access, correct, and delete it, and to opt out of the “sale” or “sharing” of personal information and targeted advertising. We do not sell your personal information or use it for targeted advertising. To exercise these rights, contact us below.
8. Account deletion
You can delete your account at any time directly in the App (Settings → Account → Delete Account), or by contacting us at support@spontora.com. Deletion is permanent, and we will remove or anonymize your personal data except where we must retain it for legal reasons.
9. Data retention
We retain your personal data only as long as necessary for the purposes described here or to comply with legal obligations. After that, we securely delete or anonymize it.
10. Children
The App is not intended for children under 16, and we do not knowingly collect their personal data. If you believe a child has provided us data, contact us at support@spontora.com and we will delete it.
11. Security
We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your information. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.
12. Changes to this Policy
We may update this Policy from time to time. Significant changes will be communicated through the App or by email. Continued use after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the revised Policy.
13. Data controller and contact
For any questions about this Policy or your data, or to identify the data controller, contact us at info@spontora.com.
